DevOps Engineer (SC)

The successful candidate will be working within a public sector programme, and will oversee the maintenance of services, ensuring stability is retained at all times and will drive performance optimisation across all applications and services., * Design, implement, and manage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, and Ansible to enable automated, scalable, and repeatable infrastructure deployments.

• Develop and maintain containerised environments using Docker, and orchestrate workloads with Kubernetes to ensure high availability, scalability, and efficient resource utilisation.
• Architect, deploy, and optimise cloud-based solutions across platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, including networking, storage, compute, and security components.
• Build, maintain, and enhance CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, or CircleCI to support automated testing, integration, and continuous delivery.
• Integrate security best practices throughout the DevOps lifecycle (DevSecOps), ensuring secure code, infrastructure, and data management using tools such as SonarQube, Snyk, and OWASP standards.
• Collaborate with development, QA, and operations teams to streamline workflows, improve deployment frequency, and enhance system reliability.

• A strong background in DevOps engineering, ideally with 5-10 years experience working within complex services environments
• Proven expertise across development, operations, and automation disciplines.
• Strong cloud experience that extends to AWS, Azure and GCP
• Experience with IaC tooling such as Ansible and Terraform
• The management of CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins or GitLab
• Strong containerisation experience utilising Docker
• Monitoring and logging abilities, ideally using Grafana or ELK
• Linux system knowledge would be desirable
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Due to the nature of the client, it would be an advantage for candidates to hold, or be eligible and willing to undergo, a certain level of security clearance (SC).
