Job description

We are looking for a highly motivated Cloud Developer to help contribute to the overall function of the development team. The Cloud Developer will be responsible for the development of our customer-facing 'do-everything' web app, the 501 Hub by creating and implementing REST APIs and user interfaces with React and frameworks. Development of internal utilities using the tools of your choice, reason withstanding.

Core Responsibilities:

Project Delivery & Execution

  • Lead end-to-end project delivery across physical and digital product streams
  • Develop and manage detailed project plans, timelines, budgets, and resource allocations
  • Ensure alignment between scope, requirements, technical constraints, and delivery milestones
  • Track and report progress, risks, and dependencies to stakeholders

Cross-Functional Coordination

  • Coordinate work across: Product Owners, Developer, DevOps, QA, Creative teams. Hardware/operations teams (where applicable)
  • Facilitate planning sessions, and milestone reviews
  • Remove blockers and ensure smooth collaboration between disciplines

Scope & Risk Management

  • Maintain clear visibility of scope changes and ensure structured change control
  • Identify risks early and implement mitigation plans
  • Balance delivery speed with product quality and operational stability

Delivery Governance & Process

  • Support and reinforce established development methodologies (Agile, Scrum, hybrid models)
  • Ensure adherence to agreed development, QA, and release management processes
  • Improve reporting transparency and delivery predictability
  • Contribute to the ongoing maturation of delivery and infrastructure practices

Quality & Release Oversight

  • Coordinate testing phases and release readiness activities
  • Ensure appropriate QA coverage and defect resolution
  • Support launch planning for in-venue physical games, Android releases, and web deployments
  • Monitor post-launch performance and stabilisation activities

Stakeholder Communication

  • Act as the primary operational point of contact for project status updates
  • Manage expectations across technical, commercial, and creative teams

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience creating applications with HTML, CSS and JS
  • 3+ years of experience creating applications with React
  • 2+ years of experience with relational databases (SQL)
  • Experience using version control systems (Git/Mercurial/SVN)
  • Experience with basic administering of cloud infrastructure on Azure, GCP, AWS or other relevant platforms, * Mastery of the Web: Profound expertise in HTML, CSS and modern JavaScript on the client, and on the server at scale with a strong knowledge of popular frameworks and tools like React, Next, and more.
  • Know your Formats: Practical knowledge of image and video file containers, codecs & formats and the processing, transcoding and optimisation of mediafor the web and native systems.
  • Wisdom in Perpetuity: A keen and proactive interest in emerging web standards, technologies and APIs. The web is constantly evolving, so too should you, and we are bound by law and morality to protect their data, both technical and rudimentary levels, commitments and operating to specified deadlines.
