Job description
We are looking for a Data Engineer for the Data Platform department at Sartorius Corporate Administration GmbH. In this role, you will be responsible to strengthen our data capabilities and enable better, faster decisions through reliable and scalable data solutions. Your work directly supports teams across the business and helps turn complex data into real impact. This position is available for full-time. It is a hybrid role requiring some days on site at our headquarters in Göttingen with the opportunity to work some days remotely.
Grow with us - Your Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines using Microsoft Azure services
- Process and transform large datasets with Azure Databricks
- Build, optimize, and monitor ETL/ELT workflows using Azure Data Factory
- Develop data models and contribute to modern data warehousing solutions
- Ensure data quality, integrity, and governance across data platforms
- Collaborate closely with data analysts, data scientists, and business stakeholders
- Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve data pipeline and performance issues
What will convince us
Requirements
- Completed vocational training in IT (e.g. IT specialist, state-certified IT technician) or a comparable with first years of relevant professional experience in data engineering or a comparable role
- Strong hands-on experience with Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, and Azure Data Lake Storage
- Proficiency in Python, SQL and practical experience building and operating ETL/ELT pipelines
- Solid understanding of data modeling concepts and modern data warehousing approaches
- Experience working with Git-based version control as well as CI/CD pipelines, ideally using Azure DevOps and Databricks Asset Bundles
- A structured and solution-oriented way of working combined with strong analytical thinking, reliability, and the ability to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Your profile is rounded off by fluent english and good german skills
