Job description
In this role, you will design, build, and maintain CI/CD pipelines and automation frameworks to support the delivery of secure, reliable systems within on-premise environments. You will take ownership of streamlining development and deployment workflows, ensuring platforms are scalable, resilient, and aligned with business and technical requirements.
You will work closely with software developers, infrastructure engineers, and security teams to implement best practices across automation, containerisation, and system monitoring. Supported by a collaborative team, you will contribute creative solutions to improve performance, enhance deployment speed, and maintain high standards of system reliability and security.

Build & Maintain CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins and Git-based platforms

Automate & Optimise infrastructure provisioning using Terraform, Ansible, and scripting

Develop & Support backend tooling using Java, Python, C#, or C++

Deploy & Manage containerised applications using Docker and Kubernetes

Monitor & Troubleshoot system performance across infrastructure and applications

Integrate & Support messaging systems (ActiveMQ, RabbitMQ) and databases (MySQL)

Secure & Maintain systems in line with PKI and enterprise security standards
Requirements
You should have strong experience in DevOps or platform engineering roles, with a solid understanding of automation, CI/CD, and infrastructure management within secure or enterprise environments. You will bring a proactive, collaborative approach and the ability to work across complex technical landscapes.

Due to the secure nature of the programme, you will need to hold UK Security Clearance or be eligible to go through this clearance. This position will be based on site near Gloucester 5 days a week.
