Job description
Together with the Belgian Defence, ILIAS Solutions manages the full data lifecycle and maintenance of the F-35 Autonomic Logistics Information System (ALIS) at the F-35 Operational Squadron Facility on Kleine Brogel Air Base., In this role, you will work closely with experienced senior system and network administrators, supporting mission-critical IT systems used in F-35 flight operations, while developing your technical skills in a secure, real-world defence environment., Working under the guidance of senior team members, you will:
- Support day-to-day system and network operations in a mission-critical environment
- Assist with system maintenance, monitoring, backup and restore activities
- Provide first- and second-line support for users and operational systems
- Help monitor hardware health and infrastructure availability
- Support network operations (LAN/WAN, switches, firewalls, appliances)
- Assist with configuration management and documentation
- Participate in troubleshooting of system and network incidents
- Coordinate with senior colleagues and local host communications
- Follow security, operational, and quality procedures
- Occasionally travel to other operational sites if required
Requirements

Vocational secondary education in Information Technology or equivalent

Starter / junior profile or up to 2 years of experience in an IT systems or network environment

Strong motivation to learn and grow in system and network administration

Interest in working in a structured, secure, operational IT environment, You do not need to be an expert yet - training and coaching will be provided. Systems & Infrastructure

Basic knowledge of Windows Server

Basic knowledge of Linux / Unix environments

Familiarity with virtualization concepts

Understanding of backup and recovery principles

Basic scripting knowledge (Shell, Batch is a plus)
Networking
- Understanding of LAN/WAN concepts
- Basic TCP/IP knowledge
- Familiarity with switches, routers, and firewalls
- Basic understanding of network topologies
- Interest in security concepts such as VPN, SSL, and IDS, * Eager to learn and develop technical expertise
- Analytical and structured way of working
- Able to follow procedures and documentation

- Team-oriented with good communication skills
- Professional working proficiency in English (spoken and written)
