Job description
We're looking for a Data Analyst to join our data team. You'll work side by side with the client, understanding their business needs and turning them into dashboards, reports and analyses that drive decision-making.
The role blends visualization and code: from designing dashboards and defining KPIs, to building ETLs in Python to prepare the gold layer of the data lake. We mainly work on AWS, though we also use Azure depending on the project.
At GALEO, we believe the best data professional is a mix of Data Analyst, Data Scientist and Data Engineer. We don't expect you to master all three roles from day one, but we do value curiosity and a genuine interest in understanding the full data lifecycle.
We deeply value your technical expertise, but also that innate curiosity to "tinker" (cacharreo) and constantly learn new things. At GALEO, Python is our universal language: used daily by 100% of the team-from Data Engineers and Scientists to IoT, Systems, and Web specialists. If you are motivated by experimenting and evolving within a shared and dynamic stack, you'll fit right in.
What you'll do day to day
- Design and develop interactive dashboards and reports (PowerBI or other visualization tools) to help clients monitor their business in real time.
- Define KPIs and business metrics in direct collaboration with the client, making sure indicators reflect the real needs of each project.
- Ad-hoc analysis and data exploration to answer specific business questions, detect patterns, trends and anomalies.
- Build and maintain ETLs in Python for data extraction, transformation and loading, feeding the gold layer of the data lake with clean, consumption-ready data.
- Automate reports and data processes: eliminate repetitive manual tasks and ensure information is delivered reliably and on time.
- Continuous client communication: you'll be the bridge between data and the business, translating needs into analytical solutions and presenting results in a clear, actionable way.
- Ensure data quality: validate sources, detect inconsistencies and propose improvements to existing data flows.
Requirements
- Degree in Computer Science, Telecommunications, Mathematics, Statistics, Business Administration or a related field.
- Proficiency in Python for data analysis and ETLs (pandas, NumPy).
- Solid SQL skills for querying and manipulating data.
- Experience with visualization tools, preferably PowerBI.
- Ability to perform exploratory data analysis (EDA) and prepare data for reporting.
- Capacity to understand business needs and translate them into metrics, KPIs and actionable dashboards.
- Strong communication and presentation skills: you'll work directly with clients on an ongoing basis.
- Ability to work both as part of a team and independently in a remote environment., * Previous experience as a Data Analyst in consulting or multi-client environments.
- Knowledge of data architectures and the data lake concept (bronze, silver, gold layers).
- Experience with cloud environments (AWS, Azure).
- Interest in or basic knowledge of Machine Learning (regression, clustering, forecasting).
- Experience with data orchestration tools (Airflow, Glue).
- Knowledge of Spark or PySpark for large-scale data processing.
- Familiarity with Git and Docker.
- Experience with agile methodologies.
- Intermediate English (B2)., We don't expect you to know everything - we value what isn't written here too. What matters to us is your ability to absorb new knowledge, your experience across different technologies and your drive to keep learning from every tech ecosystem.
