Job description

  • Drive AWS cost optimisation strategies across large-scale cloud environments
  • Embed FinOps principles into architecture and engineering practices
  • Partner with architects and engineers to design cost-efficient, scalable solutions
  • Provide strategic guidance to stakeholders on cloud spend and optimisation opportunities
  • Build data-driven business cases to support cloud investment decisions
  • Influence decision-making across both technical and non-technical teams

Requirements

  • Strong experience with AWS, including pricing models and cost management tools
  • Proven track record of cloud cost optimisation in production environments
  • Understanding of cloud architecture and how design decisions impact cost
  • Experience engaging with stakeholders and influencing technical direction
  • Ability to translate technical insights into commercial outcomes
  • Desirable: Exposure to FinOps frameworks or practices
  • Desirable: Experience within public sector, defence, or regulated environments
  • Important: Must be a sole British national (required for DV clearance)
  • Willingness to undergo Developed Vetting (DV) clearance
  • Comfortable working 3 days per week onsite on average
