This an exciting opportunity to join the team at Linkage as an Information, Advice and Guidance (IAG) Advisor; the successful applicant will be responsible for planning and co-ordinating meaningful destinations for students post college, such as employment, further education, day services and accommodation for students at our Weelsby and Toynton-all-Saints Campuses.
What will the role of Information, Advice and Guidance Advisor involve?
The role involves conducting tutorials with students to determine their aspirations and goals, providing information and advice regarding suitable and potential destinations as well as supporting them to visit provisions and complete application forms. Where appropriate students should be supported into paid employment.
The IAG Advisor attends all of their cohorts Education, Health and Care Plan reviews to impart information and discuss possible destinations for students.
The successful applicant will also conduct destination follow-ups of graduates, analyse the data gathered and provide further advice if required.
The IAG Advisor will be responsible for co-ordinating suitable transition out arrangements for college learners, liaising with college staff, learners, families/carers and external professionals as appropriate.
There will be an expectation to provide high quality transition out reports for annual reviews and attend the reviews.
The IAG advisor will produce reports and any other documentation as required for the Local Authority; including destination statements.
The successful applicant will take a key role in the organisation and execution of Open Days/Evenings.
What you will need in order to be considered for this Information, Advice and Guidance Advisor opportunity?
Requirements
· NVQ level 3 in Information, Advice & Guidance or a willingness to work towards this.
· Excellent IT skills including the use of Microsoft applications: Word and Excel.
· Excellent communication and organisational skills.
· Experience of working with young people with learning disabilities in a supportive role
· Willingness and ability to travel between campuses at Weelsby and Toynton-all-Saints. - a full driving licence is a requirement for this role.
· Ability to construct relevant and accurate reports
