Job description
This team is at the heart of Daily Mails growth strategy and you would help push the team further in the creation of agenda setting work. As a senior developer you would help lead the junior members of the team and set an example to them in the creation of digital-first news graphics.
Requirements
This role would help lead our award-winning visuals team in the development and creation of immersive visual stories and interactive tools. The candidate should be able to not only realise a designers vision but also be able to offer better approaches and help create a system that can scale as the team grows., * Experience Developing for a news room environments
- Proven record of creating engaging and immersive visual stories
- Indepth knowledge of front end languages (React, Svelte)
- Ability to convert design ideas into fully realised web stories
- Be able to work across formats (Web, Mobile, App)
- Strong JavaScript fundamentals (ES6+, async patterns, performance-aware code)
- Experience with animation libraries (GSAP, ScrollTrigger)
- Advanced CSS skills (complex layouts, motion, micro-interactions)
- Experience with Three.js or WebGL (big plus)
- Understanding of performance optimization (rendering, lazy loading, bundle size)
- Experience building scroll-driven / interactive storytelling pieces
- Basic understanding of accessibility (a11y) and cross-browser quirks
- Experience working with APIs and dynamic data

- Collaborate with wider news room (Editors, picture desk, video desk)
- Work with AI team to help improve workflows and delivery
