Visual Storytelling Developer

This team is at the heart of Daily Mails growth strategy and you would help push the team further in the creation of agenda setting work. As a senior developer you would help lead the junior members of the team and set an example to them in the creation of digital-first news graphics.

This role would help lead our award-winning visuals team in the development and creation of immersive visual stories and interactive tools. The candidate should be able to not only realise a designers vision but also be able to offer better approaches and help create a system that can scale as the team grows., * Experience Developing for a news room environments

• Proven record of creating engaging and immersive visual stories
• Indepth knowledge of front end languages (React, Svelte)
• Ability to convert design ideas into fully realised web stories
• Be able to work across formats (Web, Mobile, App)
• Strong JavaScript fundamentals (ES6+, async patterns, performance-aware code)
• Experience with animation libraries (GSAP, ScrollTrigger)
• Advanced CSS skills (complex layouts, motion, micro-interactions)
• Experience with Three.js or WebGL (big plus)
• Understanding of performance optimization (rendering, lazy loading, bundle size)
• Experience building scroll-driven / interactive storytelling pieces
• Basic understanding of accessibility (a11y) and cross-browser quirks
• Experience working with APIs and dynamic data
