Requirements
Together with the Business Cloud Services team, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and operating a robust, scalable, and secure cloud database infrastructure. Your main duties include:
- Design, implement, and maintain scalable database architectures according to the product and project backlog, with a strong focus on cloud-based SQL and NoSQL solutions
- Take full ownership of database performance, availability, and security, including backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies
- Design and optimize database schemas, indexing strategies, stored procedures, and queries, ensuring high performance and reliability
- Manage database servers and instances, particularly in test, support, and cloud environments
- Conduct database code reviews and performance assessments for solutions developed by other team members
- Operate and optimize database clusters in private and public cloud environments
- Collaborate closely with development, DevOps, and support teams to resolve incidents and continuously improve database reliability
- Ensure alignment with Agile (Scrum/Kanban) processes, working closely with the Scrum Master / Agile Coach
- Support the evolution of the central cloud platform operated on SysEleven by secunet
- Contribute to best practices in database architecture, cloud operations, and security compliance
Your Profile

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Database Management, Information Systems, or a related field

5+ years of relevant professional experience in database architecture and administration

Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with SQL and NoSQL databases

Experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL and/or document-oriented databases such as MongoDB

Solid experience with database performance optimization, query tuning, and indexing strategies

Knowledge of cloud database platforms and open-source database and clustering technologies (e.g. Apache Cassandra, Kubernetes) is a plus

Experience with database security, encryption, and compliance standards (PCI DSS, SOC2) is a must
-
Familiarity with GIT, database version control, monitoring tools, and DevOps environments

Basic knowledge of application development languages is preferred

Experience with automated backups, database testing, and disaster recovery planning

Excellent troubleshooting and debugging skills

Very good communication skills in English (Spanish is a plus)
