Job description

Digital before, that's worth highlighting. If not, we'd still like to hear from you. Role Overview You will split your time between building robust backend Python services and crafting intuitive front-end interfaces. You will operate within Agile delivery teams, working directly on high-profile client programmes. Key Responsibilities Backend Development: Design, build, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs using Python. Front-end Development: Develop responsive, component-driven front-end applications using Vue.js (experience with React is transferable, though Vue is preferred for current roadmaps). Cloud & Infrastructure: Work natively within AWS environments; understand how to deploy and debug serverless or containerised applications. DevOps & CI/CD: Contribute to and maintain CI/CD pipelines (ideally GitLab), ensuring high code quality and automated testing. Agile Delivery: Actively participate in sprint planning, retrospectives, and stand-ups. This is a collaborative role

Requirements

Python, Vue.js, AWS, DevOps, CI/CD, Agile, API Development, JavaScript, Communication, Stakeholder Engagement, Backend Development, Frontend Development, Event-Driven Architectures, NHS Digital, Public Sector, Scalable Services, not a solo coding function. Stakeholder Engagement: Translate technical complexities for non-technical stakeholders, maintaining the high professional standards required for Public Sector frameworks. Skills & Experience Essential Requirements Python: Significant, demonstrable experience developing production-grade backend systems. You should be comfortable with API frameworks and asynchronous programming. Front-end Proficiency: Strong commercial experience with a modern JavaScript framework (Vue.js or React). You should be capable of building state-managed, reactive user interfaces. Cloud (AWS): Hands-on experience deploying and managing applications within AWS (Lambda, ECS, Fargate, or similar). DevOps Mindset: Experience working with CI/CD tooling (GitLab CI, Jenkins, GitHub Actions). We need engineers who care about what happens after they merge. Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills. You will be client-facing and representing a global brand in the UK health sector. Desirable Experience Public Sector Delivery: Experience working within UK Government Digital Service (GDS) standards or similar public sector frameworks. NHS England: Specific experience working with NHS Digital, NHS Trusts, or Health Tech vendors is highly desirable. Enterprise Patterns: Experience with event-driven architectures or complex legacy system modernisation. Responsibilities You will design, build, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs using Python while developing responsive front-end applications with Vue.js. Additionally, you will contribute to CI/CD pipelines and actively participate in Agile delivery team activities.
