Job description

We are seeking a highly skilled DevOps Engineer specialising in Email Verification Infrastructure and SMTP Systems to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining scalable, reliable, and secure email verification and SMTP systems within our cloud-based and on-premise environments. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work with cutting-edge technologies, optimise system performance, and ensure seamless integration across various platforms. The ideal applicant will possess strong expertise in automation, system administration, and cloud computing, contributing to the continuous improvement of our email infrastructure., * Develop, deploy, and manage containerised applications using Docker and Kubernetes to support email verification processes.

  • Automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration management employing tools such as Terraform, Ansible, Chef, Puppet, and PowerShell.
  • Maintain and optimise SMTP systems, including Weblogic, JBoss, Tomcat, NGINX, and WebSphere servers.
  • Monitor system health and performance using tools like New Relic and Splunk; troubleshoot issues proactively to minimise downtime.
  • Manage databases including MySQL, Microsoft SQL Server, DynamoDB, Oracle, and T-SQL; ensure data integrity and optimise query performance.
  • Implement disaster recovery strategies to ensure high availability and data resilience across cloud (AWS, Google Cloud Platform, Azure) and on-premise environments.
  • Collaborate with development teams on software deployment pipelines using Jenkins, GitHub/GitLab CI/CD tools; facilitate continuous integration and delivery workflows.
  • Administer virtualisation platforms such as VMware and OpenStack; optimise resource utilisation for scalable infrastructure deployment.
  • Design and implement network security measures including firewalls, DNS configurations, TCP/IP protocols, VPNs, WAN/LAN management to safeguard email systems.
  • Support incident response activities related to system outages or security breaches; perform root cause analysis to prevent recurrence.
  • Contribute to requirements gathering for new features or system enhancements; participate in system testing and quality assurance processes.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in DevOps roles with a focus on email verification infrastructure or SMTP systems.
  • Strong proficiency with containerisation (Docker), orchestration (Kubernetes), configuration management (Ansible, Chef), and scripting languages such as Bash (Unix shell), PowerShell, Groovy, Perl, Ruby, Python.
  • Extensive knowledge of cloud platforms including AWS (S3, EC2), Google Cloud Platform, Microsoft Azure; experience with cloud infrastructure automation is essential.
  • Familiarity with web servers (Apache Tomcat, Weblogic), load balancers (Nginx), application servers (WebSphere), message queues (RabbitMQ), APIs (RESTful services).
  • Experience managing databases such as MySQL, Microsoft SQL Server, DynamoDB; expertise in SQL optimisation is required.
  • Competence in system administration of Linux/Unix environments including CentOS and WebSphere application server management.
  • Knowledge of monitoring tools like New Relic or Splunk for system health tracking; incident management experience is advantageous.
  • Strong understanding of networking protocols including TCP/IP, DNS configuration; ability to troubleshoot network-related issues effectively.
  • Familiarity with SDLC practices including software development lifecycle management tools like Jira or TFS; experience with version control systems such as GitHub/GitLab/ SVN is essential.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to debug complex systems efficiently under pressure.
  • Relevant certifications in cloud computing (AWS Certified DevOps Engineer or equivalent) are preferred but not mandatory.
