Azure Architect/ Lead Developer

Tasks Azure Architect/Lead Developer Onsite, London based, On site 3 days in London. 6months + with possible extension Senior Developer / Architect with proven experience designing and delivering large-scale Azure-based systems operating at very high transaction volumes (millions per day). This role will be client-facing and strategic, with responsibility not only for technical delivery but also for uplifting internal engineering capability. This is not a mid-level hands-on dev role. They need someone who has owned architecture decisions, understands distributed systems in production, and can explain those decisions clearly. Key Responsibilities Architect, design, and evolve high-throughput, event-driven Azure platforms Work within asynchronous, distributed architectures supporting large transaction volumes Provide technical leadership across .NET-based applications Act as a senior liaison point with the client (technical credibility is essential) Mentor, train, and upskill internal engineering teams Support ongoing platform evolution and potential future opportunities Requirements Experience Senior-level experience architecting Azure-based systems at scale Demonstrable experience with event-driven, asynchronous architectures Strong background in .NET application development Experience in financial services, payments, card processing, or similarly regulated / high-volume environments Ability to communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders Desirable Hands-on experience with Cosmos DB Exposure to data cubes / analytical data models Experience migrating platforms from AWS to Azure Prior involvement in long-running transformation or migration programmes Strong communicator who enjoys coaching and developing others Pragmatic and delivery-focused Comfortable working on-site with clients and internal teams Responsibilities The role involves architecting, designing, and evolving high-throughput, event-driven Azure platforms while providing technical leadership across .NET-based applications.
