Job description
- Support and enhance AWS-based production platforms in an SRE capacity
- Operate and optimise containerised workloads using AWS ECS and Kubernetes/EKS
- Own and maintain Infrastructure as Code using Terraform
- Work with Ansible and Puppet for configuration management
- Build, maintain and troubleshoot GitHub-based CI/CD pipelines
- Own monitoring, logging and alerting using Grafana, Prometheus, Loki and/or CloudWatch
- Support incident management, root cause analysis and post-incident reviews
- Contribute to AWS security, backup, disaster recovery and cost optimisation best practice
- Work closely with software engineering teams to improve release quality, application resilience and production reliability
Requirements
This is a hands-on AWS DevOps/SRE role focused on reliability, automation, observability and production support. The ideal candidate will also bring a software engineering background, or strong application-level understanding, ideally across full stack or backend technologies such as JavaScript, TypeScript, Node.js, Scala, Java, GraphQL or similar., * Strong recent AWS DevOps/SRE experience in production environments
- Hands-on experience with AWS ECS, Terraform, Ansible and/or Puppet
- Strong Grafana experience, ideally with Prometheus, Loki and/or CloudWatch
- GitHub/GitHub Actions or similar CI/CD experience
- Solid Linux, networking and security fundamentals
- Experience supporting 24/7 production systems
- Good scripting skills in Python, Bash or similar
- Software engineering background or strong application-level experience, ideally with JavaScript, TypeScript, Node.js, Scala, Java, GraphQL or similar
- Kubernetes/EKS experience would be highly beneficial, * Strong extension potential
- Outside IR35
- Hybrid working, ideally 2 days per week on-site in Staines/West London
- Applicants must be eligible to work in the UK
