Python Developer

Key Responsibilities * Design and build backend components for risk engines, analytics pipelines, and end-of-day processing. * Develop high-performance Python services for modelling, calculations, and data transformation. * Enhance and maintain internal risk platforms aligned with industry frameworks and regulatory expectations. * Collaborate closely with risk SMEs, quants, and technical BAs to refine requirements and deliver robust solutions. * Optimise computation-heavy workloads and ensure accuracy, stability, and auditability of risk outputs. * Contribute to architectural discussions and technical design reviews. Core Skills & Experience * Expert Python development, particularly in backend and data-processing contexts. * Proven experience building computation-heavy or risk-calculation systems. * Strong understanding of market risk, credit risk, capital, or liquidity concepts. * Experience working on enterprise risk platforms (internal or vendor-style frameworks). * Familiarity with regulatory drivers influencing risk technology (e.g., Basel, PRA, CRR). * Comfortable working in environments that are not heavily cloud-native; experience with on-prem or hybrid architectures. Preferred Attributes * Ability to work in fast-moving regulatory or remediation programmes. * Strong communication skills and ability to partner with risk and technology stakeholders. * Experience in financial-services environments with high data-quality and control expectations
