Job description
Melon is fortunate to enjoy a wide variety of web design projects, from responsive B2B sites, to startup web apps, e-commerce, comparison and e-learning, we see it all. Additionally we help clients create forward thinking GUI designs and plan and implement online marketing campaigns.
Much of our work is based on our proprietary CMS and with over 140 websites either live or in development, there is a regular requirement for support and maintenance.
You will likely need to interact with clients, either when conceiving new ideas in a meeting environment, answering technical questions or liaising directly to support the team.
Requirements
The successful candidate will relish the opportunity to work in a friendly, talented and dedicated team of planners, designers and developers.
No doubt you'll love the web, be hungry to create outstanding new websites, be ready to learn new skills and share past experiences.
You would ideally have experience of creating websites within a commercial environment and understand what's expected when creating quality code, sometimes within limited timescales.

A good eye for creativity and user experience will help, as would a sense of humour and a passion to succeed.
Your skills
- HTML & CSS
- Javascript / jQuery
- Cross browser compatability / testing
- Logical and problem solving mind set
- Good communications skills, with team and clients (eg support)
Desired
- Some PHP and MySQL / LAMP (strongly desired basic knowledge)
- Version control software (GIT)
- Deploying websites to hosted server environments

Benefits & conditions
Salary: £20,000 - £24,000, We strive to keep standard 9am-5.30pm working hours. Salary is negotiable depending on experience - we're more interested in what you've got to say and so are keeping an open mind.
