Job description

A leading global financial services institution is seeking a Network Security Engineer to take local ownership of network security in London, with exposure to wider infrastructure initiatives and the opportunity to grow into a management role.

What you'll do:

  • Design, manage, and secure network infrastructure (BGP, HSRP, load balancing, proxies, perimeter security)
  • Implement and maintain server, endpoint, and end-user security controls
  • Support and enhance core infrastructure services, including VPNs, databases, replication, and high availability
  • Administer Windows and Linux environments
  • Own and lead the local technology function, working closely with global teams
  • Operate within a regulated environment and support cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP
  • Design, secure, and support high-availability network infrastructure
  • Manage server, endpoint, and perimeter security controls
  • Partner with regional and global technology teams on delivery and improvement initiatives

Requirements

  • 6+years' experience in networking technologies, includingBGP,HSRP, load balancing, proxies, and network perimeter security
  • Hands-on experience supporting security controls across servers, endpoints, and end-user environments
  • Solid infrastructure knowledge, including VPNs, databases, replication, and resilience / high-availability designs
  • Strong Windows and Linux systems administration experience
  • Experience working within financial services or other regulated environments
  • Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP
  • CCNA certification is a strong advantage
  • Ability to speak Mandarin is a strong advantage
  • Right to work in the UK is required
