Azure Data Architect (Insurance), £800 per day inside IR35

Bench IT require an experienced Data Architect to join a large organisation starting ASAP working 3 days per week onsite in London. The Data Architect ensures that business data definitions, data models, and data engineering implementation and reporting stay aligned end-to-end.

The successful candidate should have the skills and experience included below;

• Specialist Data Architecture knowledge
• Business Data Definition Alignment - Works with Data Analytics and Data Product owners to understand, maintain and develop the Business Data Dictionary. Ensure that business definitions (eg, premium, exposure, commission, incurred claims) are agreed with the different stakeholders, modelled clearly, and implemented consistently.
• End-to-end Data Architecture

• Work with data product owners to develop and maintain conceptual and logical data models aligned to the London Market processes.
• Ensure that the data engineering physical models and pipelines follow agreed structures.
• Define clear data domain boundaries and integration points.
• Set transformation rules to incorporate business logic-which may change and must remain controlled and versioned.
• Ensure that the new Synapse platform managed inside our Azure Landing Zones is fit for purpose and suggest recommendation for its long-term improvement and capability enhancements.

• Technology Stack - Azure (Synapse, SQL, Data Lake), ADF/Databricks ETL, Power BI and other enterprise reporting tools, Underwriting and policy admin systems (desirable), Version controlled data models, Data cataloguing (Purview or equivalent)
• Strong conceptual & logical data modelling
• Proven ability to align business definitions and technical models
• Experience in regulated environments
• Understanding of insurance data flows
• Experience designing data contracts and integration boundaries
• Strong stakeholder engagement across business and engineering
• Experience working in financial services, regulated environment or Insurance would be advantageous
