Job description

DevOps & Automation Lead - Contract

Outside IR35 | £575/day | 12 months | London (Hybrid)

We're seeking a senior, hands-on DevOps & Automation Lead to support an Enterprise Change function on a long-term contract. This is a flexible, non-project-specific role, providing DevOps expertise across multiple initiatives as demand shifts. The Role

Act as a senior DevOps consultant across hybrid estates: Azure, AWS, and on-prem
Build and run CI/CD pipelines, release management, and automation for multi-tier systems
Lead infrastructure automation using Terraform and Ansible
Support deployments across Windows, Linux, and SQL Server
Produce runbooks and documentation; enable repeatable, self-service automation
Collaborate with delivery managers, product owners, and engineering teams
Engage with ephemeral environments and emerging agentic AI automation, with scope to self-learn GenAI tooling

Essential Skills

Proven senior DevOps experience across hybrid/on-prem/cloud environments
Strong automation mindset (Terraform, Ansible, CI/CD)
Experience with Azure, AWS, Windows, Linux, MSSQL
Comfortable working across multiple initiatives and stakeholders
Strong documentation and communication skills
