Job description

Axpo Group IT is the technological backbone of our organization, with over 300 IT experts providing IT services to all Axpo companies and business areas. We are transforming our IT landscape into a first-class hybrid IT environment, driving digitalization through dozens of interesting and challenging transition programs. As an Integration Engineer at Axpo Group IT, you will play a key role in delivering cutting-edge APIs and integration solutions across exciting projects.

We encourage you to push your limits, improve, and deepen your knowledge-even with technologies you may not have worked with before: MuleSoft CloudHub, Anypoint MQ, SQL Server, Elastic stack, Java, C#, Azure resources, and more.

We work in agile methodology using Jira, planning quarterly with stakeholders and developing in 2-week sprints. Our APIs and integration solutions are continuously deployed following mature ITSM processes.

What you will do:

  • Join an international team of experienced integration engineers at Group IT specializing in MuleSoft iPaaS and related technologies like Anypoint MQ, SQL Server, Elastic, Entra ID, Azure DevOps, GitHub, and Postman.
  • Analyze business requirements and collaborate with engineers and architects to deliver REST API-based and event-driven integration solutions that set benchmarks for reusability and stability.
  • Design and implement integrations and APIs using your experience in API development and event-driven architecture. Present your technical designs to our Integration Architecture Board (IAB) in engaging discussions.
  • Participate in architecture workshops, code reviews, design reviews, and other team activities to ensure clean architecture, code quality, and ease of maintainability.
  • Operate and monitor our MuleSoft CloudHub landscape, deploy new releases with Azure DevOps and GitHub CI/CD pipelines, and troubleshoot and resolve issues.
  • Adhere to our integration strategy, design principles, development guidelines, and review processes while contributing to their evolution to ensure first-class quality.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science or a related field.
  • Proven experience in MuleSoft or another integration platform to develop and operate APIs/integration solutions using version control and CI/CD.
  • Expertise in implementing complex data transformations and handling formats like REST, OData, CSV, JSON, and XML.
  • Good knowledge of integrating systems like SAP S/4HANA, SuccessFactors, Ariba, Salesforce, FTP, and databases (Oracle, SQL Server).
  • Experience in implementing asynchronous messaging using message queues like Anypoint MQ, JMS queues, or Kafka.
  • Strong understanding of infrastructure and networking, cloud-to-cloud integration, cloud-to-on-premises integration, and IT security regarding certificate and secret management. Experience in securing APIs using OAuth2 and TLS.
  • Excellent skills in requirements engineering, being self-initiated, driven, and possessing a strong analytical mindset.
  • Fluent in English; Spanish or German is a plus.
