Job description

As a Cloud Developer at Luscii, you will work on cloud and backend systems that operate at scale within an event-driven, serverless-first architecture and directly shape how digital healthcare is delivered globally, including within the AWS serverless ecosystem. In this role, you design and build secure, highly available and scalable services that support complex clinical workflows. You collaborate closely with engineers, product designers and other experts to turn real-world care challenges into reliable, production-ready solutions. You could also play an active role in architectural decisions and the long-term evolution of our platform.

Your work enables large-scale remote patient monitoring and helps healthcare professionals reduce administrative burden so they can focus more on patients. We operate in a remote-first, holacratic environment. That means ownership is not assigned, it is taken. You are trusted to own responsibilities, contribute beyond your scope and move things forward where you see impact., * Develop and operate cloud-native, serverless systems on AWS using Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) to ensure reliable, repeatable and scalable deployments.

  • Make architectural decisions across distributed systems, APIs, data storage and event-driven design.
  • Write high-quality, testable code and raise the bar through code reviews and best practices.
  • Improve system reliability and performance through monitoring, alerting and incident response.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to shape features from idea to production.
  • Mentor others, share knowledge and strengthen the engineering culture.

Requirements

… probably doesn't exist, but if you can tick most of the boxes below, we would still love to hear from you for future opportunities. As said - we are not actively hiring or recruiting for this or similar positions at the moment, but we are always open to connecting with people who could be a strong fit down the line. If we do see any opportunities, we will act on it!

You'd fit right in if you are comfortable taking ownership and making well-considered decisions independently. You enjoy the autonomy to shape your work and responsibilities, while actively seeking collaboration and alignment with others. You know when to step up, when to involve colleagues, and when to move forward decisively. Working independently does not mean working in isolation for you. You feel at ease being both a self-starter and a committed team player, contributing to shared goals while taking responsibility for your own domain. You value open communication, transparency and mutual trust.

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Information Technology;
  • 5+ years of programming experience in building and working on large scale distributed systems and AWS & Node.js;
  • Experience with React, and workflows like Zustand and responsive web design;
  • Hands-on experience building infrastructure as code using Terraform / YAML / CloudFormation / GitHub;
  • Develop microservices and distributed systems;
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to analyze complex data and resolve issues;
  • Experience with agile development methodologies and excellent debugging and optimization skills.

Benefits & conditions

  • Salary: €4.300 - €5.900 gross per month (based on 32 hours - that's full-time at Luscii).
  • Remote-first: Work from anywhere in The Netherlands. We stay connected through monthly in-person team days called Assemblii.
  • Flexible setup: Create your own ideal workspace. Whatever works best for you.

One more thing. We believe in collaboration over competition. We're not looking for lone wolves. If you love being part of a team, sharing ideas, and lifting others up - you'll fit right in.
