Job description
The Infrastructure Platform Team is the backbone of our ecosystem. You'll be responsible for keeping our apps, website, and API scaling seamlessly while ensuring our developers have the tools they need to ship fast. You won't just be "keeping the lights on" as you'll be building a scalable, reliable, and secure stage for the world's best cultural content.
Your Impact We have ambitious goals ahead of us. In your position, you will contribute to the following topics:
- Availability, Reliability, Performance: Ensure production systems are available, scalable, performant and operate as expected, providing service to external and internal users when they need it. Advocate for SRE principles and engineering excellence.
- Security & Resilience: Ensure infrastructure and tooling meet security standards. Drive security initiatives and best practices. Design and implement disaster recovery and resilience strategies.
- Observability: Provide visibility into system health and performance across teams. Enable effective debugging, alerting, and incident response
- Developer Experience: Provide infrastructure and self-serve tooling to create an efficient developer workflow and support best practices.
Requirements
- Strong background and 5+ years of experience in building and operating production systems at scale, with a focus on reliability, scalability, and performance.
- Deep experience with cloud infrastructure in AWS, including a strong understanding of networking concepts (VPCs, routing, load balancing, DNS), and the ability to design secure and resilient systems. Understanding of cost efficiency and trade-offs between performance, reliability, and cost.
- Proficiency in container orchestration and hands-on experience designing, operating, and scaling Kubernetes clusters in production environments.
- Strong experience with Infrastructure as Code, ideally Terraform, and comfortable designing reusable and maintainable infrastructure modules.
- Proficiency with configuration management and packaging tools such as Helm.
- Knowledge of modern deployment practices, including GitOps workflows and tools such as Argo CD and CI/CD systems like GitLab CI.
- Experience building and operating observability systems, and understanding of metrics, logging, and tracing (experience with Datadog and Sentry is a plus)
- Familiarity with incident management processes, using tools like PagerDuty, and are comfortable supporting triaging and resolving production incidents.
- Experience designing and building shared infrastructure or internal platforms used by other engineering teams.
- Living in the Netherlands

- Understanding of platform engineering principles, such as enabling teams through self-service, creating "golden paths", and driving standardisation.
- Product-oriented mindset: ability to prioritise work based on business impact, make pragmatic trade-offs, and focus on delivering value.
- Strong collaborative approach: experience working closely with other engineering teams to co-create solutions, gather feedback, and drive adoption of platform tools and practices.
This is a hybrid role working 2-3 per week at our HQ in Amsterdam
