Job description

I am working with a well known client who are looking for an experienced UX Designer in their Manchester team.

Due to the nature of their projects with government clients, we are looking for sole British Nationals with existing DV clearance or a willingness to undergo it.

As a UX Designer, you'll sit within a multidisciplinary internal capability alongside business analysts, change managers and user researchers, providing UX expertise to delivery teams. The role exists to ensure user challenges are clearly understood and translated into intentional, testable and refined experiences that deliver measurable value. You'll contribute to a range of products, including analytics, search, workflow and assurance tools used by a wide variety of users.

What you'll be doing:

  • Deliver user-centred design and applying appropriate tools and methods to tackle design challenges and remove blockers.
  • Leading workshops and working with user researchers to capture and interpret user needs and feedback.
  • Creating wireframes in Figma that reflect strong UX principles and presenting them to stakeholders to communicate design decisions.
  • Turning concepts into interactive prototypes and iterating designs based on user evaluation and feedback.
  • Evaluating and recommending design options that balance usability, accessibility, performance and security considerations.
  • Acting as a subject matter expert in a design discipline, such as accessibility or interaction design, and helping to upskill others.

Requirements

  • Experience designing user journeys and interfaces for complex, data-rich digital products or tools.
  • Proven ability to break down ambiguous user problems into clear, validated design solutions and user stories.
  • Confidence facilitating workshops and working with product managers, engineers and other stakeholders.
  • Strong skills creating and communicating wireframes and prototypes using Figma.
  • Comfortable constructively challenging existing approaches to improve processes, products, design systems and team efficiency.
  • Sole British National with active DV clearance or the ability and willingness to undergo DV clearance.
