Job description
Kforce has a client that is seeking a Senior Network Engineer in Orem, UT. Summary: The objective of this position is to provide operational support to the enterprise-wide network infrastructure. This is achieved by designing, implementing, and supporting various local area network (LAN) and wide area networking (WAN) technologies within a large and diverse enterprise network environment. Essential Job Functions:
- Senior Network Engineer will design, configure, install, monitor, and support various networking hardware and software solutions that support business applications
- Monitor the network environment and alerts to maintain high availability and system performance
- Lead the planning, configuration and installation of various network infrastructure technologies including switching, routing, firewalling, and VPN
- Evaluate new technologies, compile comparative data, and make recommendations to management for improved systems performance and availability
- Troubleshoot and resolve highly technical problems in a complex network environment
- Respond to after-hours reports of major problems as required
- As a Senior Network Engineer, you will assist in the continuous design, configuration and implementation of enterprise network security systems, policies, and mechanisms
- Assist in the definition and implementation of security policies and procedures
- Ensure corporate data security and integrity
Requirements
- 8+ years of recent experience as a network engineer
- 5+ years of recent experience supporting a worldwide network with multiple data centers
- Experience with IP Multicasting including PIM and IGMP
- Deep familiarity with Cisco routing and switching platforms
- Deep familiarity with IP routing protocols including BGP and OSPF
- Working knowledge of Linux (Red hat/CentOS)
- Experience with Palo Alto, Cisco ASA, and Cisco FWSM firewalls
- Experience with F5 load balancers
- Experience with log management/log analysis applications (i.e., Splunk, ELK stack)
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Experience in Banking or Financial Industry is a plus
