Staff Software Engineer, Full Stack - Austin, TX

TrendAI is looking for a Staff Full-Stack Engineer to join our high-impact team building next-generation security solutions for strategic customers.

In this role, you'll operate across the full technology stack-designing intuitive frontend experiences, building scalable backend services, and deploying cloud-native infrastructure that powers real-world cybersecurity use cases.

You'll partner closely with engineering, product, and customer teams to deliver seamless, high-quality solutions-ranging from core platform features to highly customized implementations. This is a hands-on role where your work directly influences how our products are adopted, scaled, and experienced in the field.

We're looking for engineers who are not only strong in full-stack development, but who also embrace AI-assisted development workflows to move faster, build smarter, and continuously improve engineering efficiency. A solid foundation in networking and distributed systems is key, as you'll be working on secure, high-performance environments that operate at scale., * Drive cross-team initiatives in partnership with architects and engineering leaders to deliver scalable platform capabilities

• Mentor and guide engineers, setting a high bar for technical excellence and delivery
• Design, build, and maintain modern web applications across frontend, backend, and cloud layers
• Lead customer-facing implementations, including advanced configurations and code-level customizations
• Architect and integrate TrendAI technologies into scalable, production-ready solution stacks
• Rapidly prototype and deploy solutions to address evolving customer and business needs
• Analyze complex customer environments to design tailored, high-impact security solutions
• Contribute to product direction by partnering with engineering leadership on roadmap and deployment strategies
• Stay ahead of emerging trends in cybersecurity, AI, and software engineering

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience
• 6+ years of software engineering experience, including customer-facing deployments
• Strong full-stack experience (e.g., React/TypeScript frontend; backend in Node.js, Python, Go, or Java)
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
• Solid understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, SSL, DHCP) and distributed systems
• Familiarity with network security concepts and traffic analysis tools (e.g., Wireshark, tcpdump)
• Experience using AI-powered development tools (e.g., Copilot, Claude Code) to accelerate workflows
• Strong prompting skills for LLMs to support development, testing, and automation
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to mentor others
• Strong communication skills with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes)
• CI/CD pipeline experience (Jenkins, GitLab CI, or similar)
• Strong SQL/data modeling skills
• Experience leading cross-functional initiatives or technical consulting engagements
• Familiarity with Model Context Protocol (MCP) or similar frameworks
