Senior Software Engineer

Insight Global is currently hiring a Sr. Software Engineer to work onsite in Chesapeake, VA. This role has an option for a hybrid work schedule following a successful training period. This individual will support an application modernization effort for a comprehensive software system utilized by the US Navy. The Sr. Software Engineer will work to identify tech debt and migrate legacy projects into newer frameworks and support structures. He/she will also be responsible for containerizing the existing applications to update the deployment flow. The position will involve 80% frontend/20% backend development, but this individual should be well-versed in full-stack development and have a keen interest in learning new technologies.

Active Secret Clearance Bachelor's Degree in STEM field and 8+ years of experience in software development Strong experience developing Java-based applications within a Spring or Springboot framework Proven frontend experience utilizing ReactJS, Angular, JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML and CSS Prior experience working within a TDD environment Containerization experience utilizing Docker or Kubernetes

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Prior experience supporting an application modernization effort, including analyzing and remediating tech debt

Compensation: 50-64/HR

Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.
