Job description
We are looking for a motivated and technically strong Staff Cloud & Edge Platform Engineer to join our Global Edge Engineering Platform Team.
In this role, you will lead Edge Engineering initiatives that power the Global Edge Infrastructure supporting our international payments platform. You will resolve complex engineering challenges, drive architectural decisions across on-prem and cloud environments, and develop best practices for Cloud & Edge Engineering.
You will collaborate closely with engineering, security, product, and business teams to improve secure cross-border money movement, impacting millions of customers globally.
This is a hands-on technical leadership role with strong influence across global teams., * Lead the configuration, maintenance, and optimization of the organization's network and security infrastructure to ensure high performance and reliability.
- Architect and integrate networks across multiple business units and diverse cloud environments, ensuring seamless connectivity and scalability.
- Champion the use of Infrastructure as Code processes to automate and maintain infrastructure consistency, scalability, and up-to-date configurations.
- Oversee the configuration, deployment, and management of F5 Local Traffic Managers (LTMs) and Advanced Security Modules (ASMs) to ensure seamless application delivery and security.
- Create and implement strategies for integrating cloud Virtual Private Clouds (VPCs), interconnects, and direct connects, ensuring efficient and secure data flow between on-premises and cloud environments.
- Proactively identify opportunities to enhance the network's scalability and resilience, ensuring it can handle growing business demands and traffic loads.
- Work closely with infrastructure, application, and security teams to ensure network designs meet cross-functional requirements and adhere to best practices., * Oversee and manage load balancers, GSLB platforms, CDN infrastructure, and edge routing systems.
- Lead Edge Engineering design for on-premises and public cloud migration, including hybrid connectivity solutions.
- Support and manage high availability systems, ensuring compliance with Information Security standards.
- Deploy and maintain infrastructure across data centers and cloud environments.
- Manage SSL certificate hosting, renewals, and lifecycle operations.
- Handle proactive and reactive outages; own network incidents, escalations, and root cause analysis.
- Work with vendors to resolve infrastructure issues and optimize platform performance.
- Monitor infrastructure and hosted services; provide on-call support for critical systems.
- Implement and improve operational procedures and network engineering best practices.
- Analyze traffic trends, performance data, and business growth to inform capacity planning.
- Communicate incident impact, risks, and mitigation strategies to leadership and executives.
- Create and maintain network architecture documentation and operational playbooks.
- Identify automation opportunities and improve operational efficiency through scripting and Infrastructure as Code.
- Strong foundation in: TCP/IP, DNS, SSL/TLS, HTTP frameworks, Application performance optimization, The base pay for this role will depend on where you work and the relevant experience and expertise you bring. The expected range of pay for this role by location is
Requirements

5+ years relevant experience and a Bachelor's degree OR Any equivalent combination of education and experience., * Hands-on experience with: Load balancing technologies (e.g., F5) CDN platforms (e.g., Fastly, Cloudflare) Cloud providers (AWS, GCP, or Azure)

Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible, Puppet).

Experience with monitoring tools (LogicMonitor, Datadog, Splunk, Catchpoint, etc.).

Experience with scripting languages for automation.

Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills.

Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Additional compensation for this role may include an annual performance bonus, equity, or other incentive compensation, as applicable.
