Job description

We are seeking an experienced Business Intelligence Engineer to own strong and complex analytics and to bring in comprehensive deep dives to help drive the growth of the business.

As a Business Intelligence Engineer (BIE) at Amazon, you will collaborate closely with senior Data Engineers, BIEs, and Product Managers to build stable and high-performing data solutions. Candidate should have solid knowledge in data engineering to develop efficiency DW pipelines given the scale of the dataset we work with. Moreover, the candidate should have ability in using advanced techniques, for example scripting language like Python/R and building statistical models, to drive complex insights and analyses.

To be successful in this role you will need to be comfortable working within a cross functional environment, supporting multiple stakeholders and initiatives. Key job responsibilities Work with leaders in the organization to identify opportunities and build analytical solutions that provide them with decision making capabilities and insights.

Collaborate with Product and Tech teams to design analytics frameworks that will support large-scale data-analysis and correction of defects. Identify, develop, manage, and execute analyses to uncover areas of opportunity and present written business recommendations that will help shape the direction of analytics projects/products. Own the design, development, and maintenance of ongoing metrics, reports, analyses, dashboards, etc. to drive key business decisions. Ensure data accuracy by validating data for new and existing tools. Design and influence operational best practices for reporting and predictive analytics to enable the team to scale Root cause analysis and uncovering core issues using data, then assisting to create new measures for the wider Amazon team Manage and execute entire projects end to end including project management, data gathering and manipulation, synthesis and modeling, problem solving, and communication of insights and recommendations.

Requirements

9+ years of SQL experience

  • 9+ years of professional or military experience
  • Experience programming to extract, transform and clean large (multi-TB) data sets
  • Experience in scripting for automation (e.g. Python) and advanced SQL skills.
  • Experience with AWS technologies
  • Experience with theory and practice of information retrieval, data science, machine learning and data mining
  • Experience with theory and practice of design of experiments and statistical analysis of results

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working directly with business stakeholders to translate between data and business needs
  • Experience managing, analyzing and communicating results to senior leadership
  • Experience identifying opportunities to integrate AI solutions into products and services to drive business value.

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
