Job description
Our firm is partnering with a large, global organization in the process manufacturing and agricultural supply chain industry to recruit a Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) Technical Lead. This role supports a major warehouse management transformation initiative involving highly automated, ASRS-enabled distribution environments. The WMS Technical Lead will work closely with a dedicated Project Manager and cross-functional stakeholders to evaluate, design, and implement WMS solutions that support complex manufacturing and inventory workflows. This is a hands-on, consultative role requiring both technical depth and functional understanding of warehouse operations., As the WMS Technical Lead, you will serve as the primary functional and technical subject-matter expert for warehouse management platforms used in a process manufacturing environment. You will help guide system assessment and transition activities, ensuring alignment between warehouse operations, automation technology, and enterprise systems., * Providing functional and technical leadership for Warehouse Management Systems supporting process manufacturing operations
- Supporting evaluation, design, and transition efforts involving existing and potential WMS platforms (e.g., SwissLog, Savoye)
- Collaborating with SAP and upstream/downstream systems to ensure reliable data flow, inventory accuracy, and transaction integrity
- Participating in working sessions with plant-level operations, IT teams, and integration partners to understand and document warehouse workflows
- Advising on best practices related to inventory movement, automation, ASRS integration, and warehouse configuration
- Partnering closely with a Project Manager to ensure business requirements are technically sound and achievable
Requirements
- Hands-on experience with Warehouse Management Systems, with a strong preference for SwissLog; experience with Savoye, Made4Net (M4N), or ASRS-enabled platforms is also acceptable
- Experience supporting warehouse operations within a process manufacturing environment (e.g., food, grain, chemicals, or similar industries)
- Understanding of inventory models where materials are consumed incrementally and cannot be disassembled once processed
- Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, actionable guidance for non-technical stakeholders
- Strong collaboration skills across operations, IT, and external vendors, * SAP integration or functional experience
- Prior exposure to SwissLog in grain-related environments or Savoye in protein or beef processing operations
- Experience working with highly automated warehouses and ASRS solutions
