Job description
We are seeking a technical leader with a strong passion for power architecture to join the SoC Architecture team within AMD's Computing and Graphics group. In this role, power architects shape the direction of nextgeneration SoCs-from early concept and definition through design execution and postsilicon validation. You will collaborate closely with a wide range of teams, including SoC architecture, IP design, integration and physical design, platform architecture, software, firmware, packaging, and silicon validation. If you're driven to innovate and elevate power efficiency, performance, and battery life for AMD's client and handheld products, this is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact., * Author new Power Algorithms and Software Features. Utilize latest ML techniques to optimize CPU, GPU power and performance
- Create new software interfaces to optimize hardware behavior
- Develop new firmware by prototyping complex power control algorithms across SoC roadmap
- Profile emerging benchmarks on LLM or NN workloads running on Client products to optimize power in active states by tuning algorithms
- Implement and optimize control software and features to ensure power objectives and goals are met
- Create innovative power reduction initiatives and methodologies and drive cross-organization alignment with product teams for implementation towards power convergence.
- Work closely with world-wide design teams on the implementation, verification, and review of power management solutions.
- Optimize PC use cases in terms of absolute power and also in relative performance per watt.
- Must be hands on with development boards and flashing new firmware to checkout power and performance., AMD may use Artificial Intelligence to help screen, assess or select applicants for this position. AMD's "Responsible AI Policy" is available here.
