Job description

  • We are working directly with the customers to understand their business requirements and ensure networking projects are accurately designed and implemented.
  • We identify, design and implement applying the current and latest networking solutions available.
  • Write and maintain software to address sophisticated network management and monitoring tasks, including:
  • We deploy and audit configuration of network devices
  • We monitor network health, including metrics collection, visualization, and alerting
  • We track network utilization over time to assist capacity management models
  • Define and meter the availability of existing and future network solutions, ensuring they meet or exceed the needs of the business
  • Identify and deliver solutions that reduce operational impact to business and enable them with scalable, resilient, and cost optimized network infrastructure.
  • Investigate problems that involve networking technologies to resolve customer issues, identify root causes, document and develop corrective actions.
  • Be part of the team that design, implements, improves, and supports a global network environment to include routers, switches, firewalls, wireless controllers.
  • Performs problem isolation and resolution of network problems
  • Act as tier 2 escalation contact for network issues.
  • Find opportunities to improve the corporate network by implementing the network standards that have been established by the Global Networking Services team.
  • Collaborating with the network architects and deployment teams on business imperative projects and initiatives to optimize the enterprise network.
  • Ensuring that all network environments are well documented.
  • Participating in the on-call rotation with other engineers to ensure support coverage for the global enterprise network.
  • Mentoring junior members of the group in order to build a stronger organization.
  • Handling and supervising the Service Now work queue to address customer requests within the established service level agreements.

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Security or other technical field is desired, though 5+ years of direct and applicable professional experience in configuring, deploying, running and fixing routers and switches in an enterprise environment will be considered for a substitution.
  • Consistent record with configuring, deploying, handling, and solving issues on network devices in a major corporate environment.
  • Excellent knowledge of IT general practices and methods with specialised knowledge in multiple technical disciplines such as, cloud, telecommunications, network & automation.
  • 3-5 years practical meaningful experience in large-scale networking engineering and operations.
  • Sophisticated knowledge of WAN routing (BGP), traffic engineering, QoS, telemetry, and segmentation
  • Good level of understanding of dynamic routing protocols such as BGP, EIGRP, and OSPF.
  • Experience with Load Balancers, Firewalls, WAN Optimization, and/or VPN Concentrators is a plus
  • Demonstrate experience with networking technologies within large enterprise networks
  • Detailed knowledge of Cisco, Arista or similar routing and switching platform.
  • Hands on experience with Fortinet, Pulse Secure & F5 products and services is considered as a plus
  • Good knowledge of Networking and Wireless standards.
  • Experience with Cisco & Meraki wireless solutions.
  • Understanding and knowledge of network segmentation.
  • Experience with SD-WAN management & solving issues is an extra
