Job description
The candidate will work collaboratively within Ford and multiple mod center and supplier partners to launch specialty vehicle programs and accessories for body exterior, body Interior and electrical for Battery Electric Vehicles (BEV) and Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) vehicles for Ford Blue and Model-e programs. The candidate will be responsible for industrializing and managing Quality, Mod Center Capacity analysis and resolving production delivery issues for new model program launches and current production programs. Flexibility to travel within US/Canada and Mexico is required.
What you'll do...
- The primary focus is on improving supplier quality and reducing quality rejects (QRs). This involves leading process improvements, analyzing warranty concerns, and ensuring data accuracy related to QR/PPM.
- Containment and Problem Resolution: A significant part of the role involves containing quality issues arising from suppliers, managing stop-ship situations, and supporting root cause analysis for preventative actions.
- The STA Engineer acts as a bridge between the plant vehicle team (PVT), STA, and plant management, providing updates on supplier-related quality issues and participating in quality meetings.
- Technical Support and Development: The role includes developing and implementing STA deliverables, industrialization plans, and quality systems for suppliers, particularly those involved in modification centers.
- The position requires strong collaboration with various teams (VRT, STA Site team, technical specialists) and effective communication with both internal stakeholders and external suppliers.
- BSAQ: Framework for addressing quality issues with suppliers.
- Ensuring proper PAC closure of preventative actions based on root cause analysis.
- Standardized mod center PPAP requirements, review and approve mod center PPAP for both VP and FCS content: PFMEA, Process Control Plans
- Develop manufacturing APQP.
- DIO (Dealer Invoiced Option): DIO wheel program / Support for FAD processes.
- Ford Custom Garage: Support initiative in 3rd party upfitter developing and establishing quality system.

Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or related STEM field
- 4+ years of experience in manufacturing quality
- 4+ years of experience in problem solving tools (Six Sigma, DOE, 8D, 5 Why, etc.)
- 4+ years of experience using Microsoft Office (Word/Excel/Outlook)

This position is a salary grade 6 and ranges from $72,480-121,440., This position is a salary grade 7 and ranges from $84,480-141,360., This position is a salary grade 8 and ranges from $96,720-162,120.
Final determination of salary grade will be based on candidate's skills and experience, and base salary will be set within the applicable range according to job scope, responsibility and competitive market value.
