Job description

  • Leads design and development of space system, segment and satellite subsystem design, integration and test.
  • Applies systems engineering principles, including requirements development, verification, validation, and interface management.
  • Supports systems engineering IPT with technical, cost and schedule execution of the program's Systems Engineering IPT.
  • Interfaces with customers during program shaping, CONOPS development, Mission Architecture definition, and requirements derivation activities.
  • Leads analysis and decomposition of system and subsystem requirements, and development of interface control documents.
  • Uses traditional and Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) approaches lead and contribute to the development all SE work products which may include:
  • CONOPS
  • System Architecture
  • Requirements and Interface Control Documents
  • Mission and System Analysis
  • Trade Studies
  • Applies basic technical knowledge to analyze, investigate and resolve assigned routine engineering problems.
  • Prepares technical reports, presentations, and documentation for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Collaborates with SE leadership and peers to ensure consistent implementation of SE practices across programs.
  • Opportunities will arise to support internal development and new business opportunities.

Requirements

Do you have experience in Aerospace design?, Do you have a Master's degree?, * Typically requires a bachelors degree, masters degree or PhD in engineering or a related technical discipline from an accredited institution and progressive engineering experience as follows; nine or more years of experience with a bachelors degree, seven or more years of experience with a masters degree, or four or more years with a PhD. May substitute equivalent engineering experience in lieu of education.

  • Must have prior experience in space domain and satellite segment design.
  • Prior experience as an IPT lead or technical lead strongly desired.
  • Familiarity with the following tools is desired: Cameo, Magic Draw, DOORS,STK, Atlassian (JIRA, Confluence).
  • Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills required to effectively interface with all organizational levels, customers, and government representatives.
  • Customer-focused approach to formulating plans and developing innovative designs that resolve advanced technical engineering problems.
  • Must be able to work on a self-initiated basis and in a team environment and able to work extended hours and travel as required.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain TS/SCI security clearance is required.
