Job description
As the Platform Engineer, you will work on a development team, utilizing Agile scrum methodology, which is responsible for developing and maintain agency wide Platform as a Service (PaaS) capability deployed across multiple security domains. The PaaS environment supports multiple tenants deploying a myriad of application stacks and data services., * O&M of existing Red Hat OpenShift environment across multiple security domains in both Cloud and datacenter (vSphere) environments
- Support OpenShift operators and frameworks including Crossplane, Kyverno, RedHat GitOps
- Deploy OpenShift to new sites as they come online
- Work with internal and external teams to understand integration requirements and scale existing platforms to meet them
- Work with Security to ensure ongoing compliance and develop secure solutions
- Support data services including RabbitMQ, Redis, PostgreSQL, Elastic Stack
- Compile detailed documentation
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Programming, Science, Engineering or a related technical discipline.
- 5-8 years Developer experience
- Meet DoD 8570 IAT Level II requirements including one of the following: Security+ CE, CND, SSCP, GSEC, GICSP, CySA+, or CCNA
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience deploying and managing RedHat OpenShift in a cloud and/or vSphere environment
- Experience with Amazon Web Services
- Python, Shell scripting, Git
- Linux distributions: RHEL/RHCOS, CentOS
- CI/CD orchestration tools: GitLab CI, Jenkins
- Container technology: Docker, Kubernetes, and Cloud Native Computing Foundation ecosystem in general
