Job description
Seeking a Lead Data Architect with 10+ years of experience in data engineering, cloud migration, and architecture design. The role involves leading end-to-end data modernization projects across AS400 and GCP environments, ensuring data quality, scalability, and availability to support analytics and business operations., * Lead design and implementation of enterprise data solutions and cloud migration (AS400 GCP).
- Develop, optimize, and maintain ETL pipelines, data models, and storage solutions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define architecture standards and data governance practices.
- Integrate and transform data from multiple systems into unified Lakehouse structures.
- Work with data scientists and analysts to enable analytics, visualization, and ML workloads.
- Mentor junior engineers and ensure adherence to best practices.
- Monitor and enhance performance, security, and cost efficiency of data systems.
Requirements
- 10-12 years in Data Engineering / Architecture with lead or senior-level experience.
- Strong in AS400 (IBM iSeries) data extraction and modernization.
- Hands-on GCP experience BigQuery, Dataflow, Pub/Sub, Composer, Cloud Storage.
- Proven experience in data migration, modern data platforms, and data modeling.
- Proficiency in Python, SQL, or Java for data pipeline development.
- Expertise with BI tools Power BI, Tableau, etc.
- Familiar with data mesh / lakehouse architectures, integration frameworks, and governance.
- Strong communication, analytical, and leadership skills.
Education:
- Bachelor's in computer science or related field.
- GCP / Cloud certifications preferred.
