Job description
The successful candidate will work on a variety of transportation related design projects developing contract plans, specifications, and estimates for construction. They should have experience with the entire project design delivery process. The candidate shall perform engineering design tasks pertaining to roadway geometric design, production of plans, and writing technical reports and documents.
Primary Duties:
- Research, collect, and review data for transportation-related projects
- Complete technical assignments that include planning, modeling, calculations, design, detailed cost estimates, specifications, and permitting
- Utilize specialized computer software to assist with the analysis, design, and plan production for new transportation systems or parts of systems, such as highways, streets, bridges, drainage structures, and roadway lighting
- Aid in the preparation of detailed reports and documentation of the design approach
- Assist with plan alterations and modifications of existing streets, highways, or freeways to improve traffic flow
Requirements
We are looking for an engineer with experience in roadway and drainage design to support a wide range of FDOT projects. Projects will include but are not limited to minor and major/complex roadways and interchanges and will offer the opportunity to mentor and guide junior staff and be mentored by some of the top local experts in the transportation industry., * A Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering
- Approximately 3-8 years of progressive engineering experience in transportation design
- Proficient in Microstation and OpenRoads Designer
- Proficient in MS Office Suite programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project)
