Job description

At Autonodyne we specialize in the command and control of autonomous vehicles. Our software suite sits at the nexus of Human-Machine Interface & Autonomy Behaviors. We are searching for an Information Systems Security Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate can effectively provide technical security engineering support to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of information systems, networks, and related hardware and software within the organization. Responsibilities:

  • Engineer, develop and implement security solutions that meet security control requirements across cloud, virtualized, and on-prem environments (e.g., OS, network devices, hypervisors, containers, SaaS), ensuring confidentiality, integrity, and availability.
  • Establish hardened baselines and ensure application of STIGs and CIS Benchmarks; track evidence, waivers, and exceptions across systems and maintain auditable artifacts for compliance.
  • Design, implement, document and maintain security control implementation artifacts (designs, configurations, test evidence), track compliance against NIST 800-171 and other control sets, STIGs/CIS Benchmarks, and manage POA&M items.
  • Design secure configurations and build processes (images, golden baselines, infrastructure-as-code templates) applying least privilege, segmentation, encryption, and secure service configurations.
  • Automate assessment and remediation using Nessus and other tools to integrate with patching and configuration management workflows.
  • Integrate vulnerability scanning outputs into remediation plans; prioritize fixes, track POA&M items to closure, and validate mitigations through re-testing.
  • Engineer robust identity and access management (SSO, MFA, RBAC) across cloud, on-prem, and enterprise platforms; ensure secure onboarding/offboarding and periodic access reviews.
  • Implement logging, telemetry, and SIEM integrations; validate detection coverage and support response playbooks with reliable, engineered data sources.
  • Document technical security designs, control implementations, and as-built configurations; maintain system security engineering artifacts to support audits and authorizations.
  • Support assessment and authorization activities by providing engineering evidence, configuration baselines, and control test results; collaborate with ISSM/PMs and assessors.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship on secure configurations for Windows and Linux servers/workstations, network devices (firewalls, routers, switches), hypervisors (e.g., VMware/KVM), and containerized platforms.
