Job description

The Systems Architect will provide a key role in the expansion of L3Harris's systems solutions for International C2 and Mission Systems. The Systems Architect will support the development of complex systems, ensuring architectural integrity and consistency across the pursuits and program execution. The Systems Architect will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to define system architecture for new and existing products, balancing technical performance, cost, and schedule while meeting customer requirements., * Network Systems Engineers and Architects design, integrate, and operate secure, military communications networks over multiple domains. They deliver detailed network schematics, hardware selections, and software configurations that meet performance requirements.

  • Network Systems Engineers and Architects maintain an advanced technical understanding of IP networks, routing protocols, and current products and networking technologies like routers, switches, firewalls, and encryption devices.
  • Our engineers operate as part of an integrated product team to configure, troubleshoot various networking devices, and network problems.
  • Competencies should include various devices that use the network, including computers and servers that run operating systems like Windows and Linux, often on Hypervisors by VMware and Rancher, and container ecosystems.
  • Support Technical Discussions: Assist/Lead technical discussions with customers developing systems solutions based on L3Harris Radio and modern MANET Waveforms.
  • Develop System Architectures: Help develop system architectures to meet customer-specific requirements for Comms modernization and C4ISR systems.
  • Assist in System Integration: Provide support during the design and integration of L3Harris products with third-party systems, including intercom systems, electronics, software applications, and power systems.
  • Support Physical Integration: Assist with the physical integration of Radio products into various platforms such as land vehicles, shelters, fixed sites, ships, aircraft, and UAVs.
  • Prepare Documentation: Prepare white papers and presentations and assist in presenting custom systems solutions to customers.
  • Collaborate & Coordinate with Engineering Teams
  • Travel Requirements: Willingness to travel to international locations to support customer meetings, demos, conferences, and equipment integration as needed.
  • Ability to obtain a US Security Clearance

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree and minimum 6 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related experience.
  • Experience in Systems Level Design and Integration around relevant technologies.

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Familiarity with network design, architecture, specifications, and equipment selection.

  • Familiarity with IPv4 and IPv6 network design, including IP subnetting and protocols including BGP, OSPF and EIGRP

  • Familiarity with network device configuration and troubleshooting (ideally, Cisco IOS/IOS-XE with understanding of Juniper Junos)

  • Understanding of features and technologies like GRE, IPSEC, DMVPN, GetVPN, IP quality-of-service, VLANs, SD-WAN, VXLAN, and multicast.

  • Familiar with Windows, Linux, VMware, OpenShift, Rancher, and container configuration and troubleshooting.

  • Familiarity with tactical/military radio networks, like Common Data Link (CDL) and ANW2.

  • Knowledge of Multi-Level Security (MLS), cross-domain networks, and Federated Mission Networking (FMN) Framework Process for net-centric operations.

  • Strong technical proposal experience to include knowledge and expertise in the following areas: detailed scheduling, work breakdown structure development, basis of estimates development and technical writing.

  • Capable in Systems Design and Systems Integration with relevant technologies.

  • Strong understanding of systems engineering principles and practices.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and lead cross-functional teams.

Benefits & conditions

In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in New York state is $92,500 - $171,500 This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location. L3Harris also offers a variety of benefits, including health and disability insurance, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, EAP, education assistance, parental leave, paid time off, and company-paid holidays. The specific programs and options available to an employee may vary depending on date of hire, schedule type, and the applicability of collective bargaining agreements.
