Job description

  • Security Specialist III - Personnel Security Adjudication Specialist adjudicate government background investigations for individuals requiring a suitability, fitness, and/or national security determination.
  • Security Specialist III prepare and submit security packages to the CIA for Sensitive Compartmentalized Information (SCI) requests.
  • Security Specialist III Conduct issue resolution of issues in the background investigations using Letters of Interrogatory or security interviews.
  • Review returned security forms for accuracy with necessary follow-up for corrections/clarifications/additions and/or contacting individuals who have not returned their security forms in a timely manner.
  • Handle telephone inquiries from subjects of investigations and/or investigative agencies and dealing with other telephone inquiries as necessary.
  • Provide preliminary review of security investigation materials, as directed.
  • Maintain electronic database records of all office, private offices, dedicated, locked Also, responsible for all aspects of the access control system and distribute private offices under established procedures.
  • Handle customer walk-ins and telephone inquiries regarding security issues.
  • Handle and process classified and sensitive unclassified documents, to include inventory, accountability, dissemination, and destruction.
  • Security Specialist III perform additional security duties as required to meet the SOC's operational needs, including, but not limited to attending meetings, providing responses to internal and external requests, conducting security-related research, conducting personnel security interviews, and information gathering and exchange via telephone, internet, and mail.
  • Supervisory and administrative responsibilities over all other SOC Contract Security When the primary is absent, the Secondary Security Specialist III shall assume these duties and responsibilities.
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Demonstrated and thorough working knowledge of current Risk Designation and Position Sensitivity Classification, and Adjudicative and Suitability Guidelines for both National Security and Public Trust positions.
  • Must be proficient in the MS suite of office automation software (Word and Excel).
  • Possess interpersonal communications skills.
  • Possess excellent customer service capabilities.
  • Ability to perform general administrative management tasks as needed.

Minimum/General Experience:

  • Must have a minimum of five (5) years of experience in the area of personnel security with emphasis on personnel security adjudications
  • Demonstrated experience in Risk Designation and Position Sensitivity Classification

Minimum Education:

  • Must possess at least a high school diploma or GED equivalent, Must be able to successfully pass a background check, and pre-employment drug testing. Job offers are contingent upon results of background check and drug testing.
