As part of CAA's Global Safety & Security Organization, this role will be responsible for Security Systems and Technology Strategy - to include determining the most appropriate physical security techniques to accomplish objectives. As a strategist who can also execute, this individual will make informed recommendations on physical security systems, tools, and service requirements for the company. This role will also be responsible for coordinating and overseeing implementation, working in close collaboration with physical security operations leadership and interdepartmental partners such as IT and Facilities.
In addition to security systems, this role will encompass other areas of data and analytics - to include access control records, VMS, emergency communications tools, metrics, incident management systems, risk assessment, and other data-driven process improvements.
The ideal candidate for this role will be a team player with a depth of technical knowledge and versatility to execute on a variety of security systems and vendor management tasks, large and small. The right candidate will have a passion for keeping people safe and working collaboratively with others to get the job done. This role will report to SVP, Global Head of Safety & Security.
- Position will be primarily required to be on site at the CAA office in Los Angeles, California but will have global scope.
Responsibilities
- Defines physical security system standards, policies, required upgrades, maintenance and day-to-day management of all security systems through system integrators or internal resources.
- Implements technology solutions aligned with corporate security strategy and budget guidelines.
- Maintains an in-depth knowledge of the state-of-the-art security equipment standards and technology encompassing all physical security products.
- Advises and assists in annual security systems budgeting process.
- Coordination, installation, upgrade and conversion or servicing of alarm systems, access controls, video cameras, burglary, radio systems and all other types of physical security equipment.
- Provides system solutions to specific security concerns identified through stakeholder requests and security audits.
- Develops and maintains operational processes to ensure security standards are maintained.
- Acts as a primary contact for security system emergency issues.
- Directs and manages external relationships to ensure the viability of all physical security systems, legacy and new, with the goal of minimal business disruption as the result of failed or improperly configured systems.
- Provides product research, feasibility studies, project planning, tracking and quality assurance and overall vendor communication and management.
- Develops and administers processes for annual audits for various access control systems.
Requirements
- Ten (10) plus years of experience in physical security technology programs, with six (6) or more years leading large scale projects and portfolios.
- Deep understanding and knowledge of enterprise physical security systems: Genetec VMS and ACS, visitor management platforms (e.g., Envoy), and cloud/SaaS architectures.
- Strong design and construction fluency: Revit/CAD workflows, reading and marking architectural/security drawings, submittals/RFIs, and commissioning.
- Skilled in vendor strategy, vendor management and negotiations, including RFPs.
- Knowledge and experience in working with information technology security application and practices.
- Strong sense of teamwork, flexibility, and problem-solving abilities.
- Able to work collaboratively and build productive relationships, both external and internal - across levels and functions.
- Bachelor's degree and relevant certifications such as PSP, PMP, CPP, NICET, CCNA or Genetec certifications are preferred.
Benefits & conditions
The annual base salary for this position is in the range of $182,000 - $226,000 in Los Angeles, CA. This position is also eligible for benefits and a discretionary bonus. Ultimately, the salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in the role, business sector, and geographic location, among other criteria.
