Job description

  • Implement new features while maintaining overall software quality.

  • Document and share technical knowledge as part of an agile squad.

  • Participate in developer communities of practice, follow best practices, and engage in code reviews.

  • Stay current on relevant technology trends.

  • Research and resolve customer issues.

  • Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement and risk awareness.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Application development as a software engineer.

  • Mainframe technologies including COBOL, JCL, DB2, and VSAM.

  • Migration experience.

  • Testing experience.

  • Knowledge of object-oriented design.

  • Development experience with one or more of: COBOL, SAS, or other open-system languages.

  • Familiarity with relational databases and SQL.

  • Experience with Snowflake environment tools like Elevate, Switchboard, and DBT (preferred).

  • ETL experience (preferred).

  • sFTP file movement experience (preferred).

  • Understanding of basic networking and firewall concepts.

  • Experience with version control solutions, preferably Git or GitHub.

  • Understanding of the full software development lifecycle.

  • Familiarity with security best practices for software development.

  • Strong analysis and problem-solving skills.

  • Card processing solutions such as TSYS or Mastercard (preferred).
