Job description

The Enterprise Asset and Configuration Management team has an immediate opening for a Senior Advisor with primary focus on Software Asset Management (SAM). This role will lead initiatives to integrate ServiceNow Hardware Asset Management (HAM) and Software Asset Management (SAM) workspaces with procurement and vendor systems, ensuring optimal management of software assets across the enterprise.

What You Will Do:

  • Lead the design and implementation of integration solutions between ServiceNow SAM/HAM modules and enterprise procurement/vendor management systems
  • Develop and maintain Software Asset Management processes, policies, and procedures across the organization
  • Oversee software license compliance activities, ensuring adherence to vendor agreements while optimizing license utilization
  • Partner with IT Procurement to establish effective software acquisition workflows and vendor management strategies
  • Design National IT contracts and software entitlement processes to ensure compliance and optimize resource allocation
  • Ensure software discovery tools are implemented appropriately to maintain an accurate inventory of deployed assets.
  • Analyze software usage data to identify cost saving opportunities and recommend optimization strategies
  • Create and deliver executive-level reporting on software asset status, compliance position, and financial impacts
  • Collaborate with IT Operations, Finance, and Procurement teams to streamline software lifecycle management
  • Provide subject matter expertise and guidance on complex licensing models and compliance requirements
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives for the Software Asset Management program

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in information technology, business administration, or related field
  • Minimum 6 to 9+ years of experience in Software Asset Management, IT Asset Management, or related discipline
  • Proven track record implementing integration solutions between asset management and procurement systems
  • Strong knowledge of software licensing models and vendor management practices
  • Experience developing and implementing asset management processes and workflows
  • Excellent analytical skills with ability to interpret complex licensing data and metrics
  • Strong project management capabilities with experience leading cross-functional initiatives
  • Effective communication skills with ability to present technical concepts to various stakeholder groups

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated experience with ServiceNow HAM and SAM workspaces
  • ITAM/SAM certification (CSAM, ITIAM, ITIL, etc.)
  • Experience with API integrations and data mapping between enterprise systems
  • Knowledge of IT procurement processes and vendor contract negotiations
  • Background in IT financial management or technology cost optimization
  • Experience with cloud/SaaS licensing models and management
  • ServiceNow IT asset management certification(s) or advanced user experience
  • Understanding of compliance frameworks and audit requirements, * Advanced knowledge of software licensing metrics and compliance requirements
  • Proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Team-oriented approach with strong collaboration capabilities

  • The hiring range is $121,400 - $166,980 annually.
  • For candidates outside Richmond, VA, listed hiring and salary ranges may be adjusted based on your geographic location.
