Job Summary:The SAP Technical Architect is a senior-level role responsible for designing, architecting, and guiding the overall technical landscape of the SAP environment. This position emphasizes architectural leadership across Basis administration, security, Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC), and long-term technical strategy. The SAP Technical Architect ensures that SAP platforms are robust, secure, scalable, and aligned with business objectives, while driving modernization and best practices throughout the organization's SAP ecosystem. Key Responsibilities, * Architect and guide the SAP Basis team to deliver high-performing, resilient, and scalable SAP systems, including S/4HANA, Ariba, Signavio, Global Trade Services, Document Reporting and Compliance, Profitability and Performance Management, and SAP Cloud ALM.
- Define technical standards for system provisioning, upgrades, configurations, monitoring, and troubleshooting, collaborating closely with SAP Enterprise Cloud Services to ensure technical alignment and innovation.
- Establish best practices for transport management, backup and recovery strategies, and disaster recovery architecture for all SAP environments.
- SAP Security Architecture:
- Design and oversee implementation of SAP security roles, authorizations, and compliance frameworks, ensuring secure and compliant access across all SAP platforms.
- SAP Basis Administration:
- Lead and manage SAP Basis team, ensuring optimal performance, availability, and reliability of SAP systems S4 Hana, Ariba, Signavio, Global Trade Services, Document Reporting and Compliance, Profitability and Performance Management, SAP Cloud ALM .

- Coordinate Transport Migration, backup, recovery, and disaster recovery planning for SAP environments.
- SAP Security Management:
- Design, implement, and maintain SAP security roles and authorizations.
- Ensure compliance with internal and external security standards.
- Monitor and manage user access, segregation of duties, and vulnerability assessments.
- Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC):
- Oversee SAP GRC processes and solutions to manage risks and ensure regulatory compliance.
- Develop and maintain controls for audit readiness.
- Perform risk assessments and drive remediation activities.
- Technical Development Strategy & Leadership:
- Develop and execute on SAP Technical Development Standards incorporating SAP leading practices on clean core.
- Develop and execute technical strategies to optimize SAP landscape and integrate emerging technologies.
- Collaborate with business and IT stakeholders to align SAP initiatives with organizational goals.

Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (Master's preferred).
- 8+ years of experience in SAP Basis administration, security, and GRC.
- Proven leadership experience managing technical SAP teams.
- Strong understanding of SAP architecture, Cloud ALM, infrastructure, and integration.
- Expertise in SAP GRC solutions and regulatory compliance frameworks.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and project management skills.
- Relevant SAP certifications (e.g., SAP Certified Technology Associate) highly desirable.

The salary range for this position is: $171,200 to $188,320. BioMarin considers a variety of factors when determining base compensation, including experience, qualifications, and geographic location. These considerations mean actual compensation will vary. This position may also be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, discretionary stock-based long-term incentives (eligibility may vary based on role), paid time off, and a benefits package. Benefits include company-sponsored medical, dental, vision, and life insurance plans.
