Job description

The Senior Database Administrator will provide infrastructure-level DBA support across multiple SQL Server environments. This role supports 24x7 software/hardware needs, ensures high availability, manages patching, oversees maintenance, evaluates new technologies, and participates in disaster recovery activities. The position also collaborates with technical teams and external partners to maintain system stability and performance., * Enforce database standards, policies, and procedures

  • Monitor and manage space allocation across all databases
  • Calculate disk space requirements for current and future needs
  • Adjust DBMS parameters based on capacity changes
  • Configure and run database integrity checks
  • Install and maintain database management software, patches, and service packs
  • Support clustered environments, replication, and backup processes
  • Implement strategies to reclaim unused space and reduce fragmentation
  • Execute scripts to create/modify database objects (tables, views, indexes, constraints, etc.)
  • Monitor database backups, troubleshoot failures, and ensure recoverability
  • Track and troubleshoot database jobs and scheduled processes across environments
  • Monitor environments via alerts, logs, and trace files
  • Apply best practices for database space allocation aligned with business needs

Requirements

  • 4+ years of Database Administration on SQL Server 2016+
  • Expertise in High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) solutions
  • Experience with Transparent Data Encryption (TDE) in SQL Server
  • 2+ years creating, updating, and maintaining systems documentation

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or similar
  • Extensive experience may allow acceptance of an associate degree, * SQL Server 2016+ Administration
