- Core Knowledge & Skills: Architects scalable, resilient solutions; authors roadmaps and blueprints; integrates diverse components; advances automation (PowerShell/Python/Ansible) and governance/policy.
- Work & Complexity: Leads architectural initiatives, establishes performance benchmarks, integrates systems at scale, researches emerging tech, and mitigates enterprise risk.
- Quality & Independence: Ensures integrity, scalability, and cost/performance optimization; produces comprehensive design artifacts; sets and enforces standards with broad autonomy.
- Teamwork & Communication: Leads architectural teams, builds strategic partnerships, institutionalizes knowledge management, and communicates designs and executive-ready reports.
- Consulting & Engagement: Delivers architectural consulting aligned to business strategy, proposes enterprise technologies, nurtures vendor alliances, and seeds new project opportunities.
As your initial project assignment, you will support the unique needs of our client as a Cloud Security Architect - Mid. Project Summary
AIS is supporting federal customer with a program focused on architecture and infrastructure., * Owns and manages the development of InfoSec engineering designs and implementation.
- Identifies security issues and risks, and develop mitigation plans for standards for cloud implementations.
- Architect, design, implement, support, and evaluate security-focused tools and services.
- Oversee assessment and mitigation of system security threats/risks throughout the program life cycle; validation of system security requirements definition and analysis; establishing system security designs.
- Supports implementing security designs in hardware, software, data, and procedures and verification of security requirements.
Requirements
- Proven experience designing and securing cloud architectures across AWS, Azure, and/or GCP, including identity, network, data, and workload security controls.
- Strong knowledge of Zero Trust principles, cloud-native security services, encryption, key management, logging, and continuous monitoring.
- Hands-on experience with security compliance and risk management in regulated environments (e.g., NIST, RMF, FedRAMP, DoD cloud requirements).
- Ability to architect secure solutions that integrate on-premises, hybrid, and multi-cloud environments while meeting mission and performance needs.
- Active Secret clearance or higher, with eligibility to support federal and DoD customers.
- IAT Level II certification (DoD 8570/8140 compliant) and one or more cloud certifications (e.g., AWS, Azure, or GCP security-focused credentials).

- Experience supporting DoD/IC programs and mission systems.

At AIS, we are committed to offering competitive and fair compensation that reflects the skills, experience, and contributions of each team member. The targeted base salary range for this role is $138,000-$209,000 per year. Please note that this range is provided as a guideline and the final offer will be based on several factors, including but not limited to, skillset and competencies, level of experience, education, certifications, and location.
