Job description
- Develop software rapidly within an Agile team environment to meet evolving business needs.
- Engineer multi-language solutions focused on rapid integration, product quality, and high end-user satisfaction.
- Architect, design, test, and debug mission application software.
- Define, refine, and improve product concept, implementation, testability, and quality.
- Present complex technical concepts effectively to a diverse group of customers, contractors, and internal stakeholders.
- Participate in internal review of software components and systems.
- Collaborate with stakeholders and product owners.
- Teaching, coaching, and mentoring less experienced staff., * Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products.
- This position requires security clearance. DCSA Consolidated Adjudication Services (DCSA CAS), an agency of the Department of Defense, handles and adjudicates the security clearance process. Requirements
- Typically requires a Bachelor's in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM preferred) and a minimum of 10 years of prior relevant experience OR an Advanced Degree and 7 years of prior relevant engineering experience.
- Experience in developing, testing, and integrating real-time software applications written in C++ or closely related software languages.
- Experience in computer scripting languages such as Python/Shell/Perl.
- RHEL OS experience.
- Active and transferable U.S. government issued Top Secret security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Qualifications We Prefer:
- Experience as a leader of software development, integration or test activities on defense software development programs
- Radar domain knowledge
- Proven track record of effectively interacting with subordinates, customers and other organizations/disciplines
- Ability to manage multiple and competing priorities
- Experience in signal processing
- Prior experience in embedded software programs within DoD environment
- Ability to quickly understand and navigate complex systems, established code bases and create requirements as needed.
- Linux OS, VM/container and reverse engineering experience
- Experience with product development utilizing Scrum and Agile software development techniques
Benefits & conditions
The salary range for this role is 132,400 USD - 251,600 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company's performance.
This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
