Job description
As Senior Materials Manager, you will be playing a critical role in construction of novel battery chemical plant(s) near Corpus Christi, TX. You will lead the development and optimization of a robust materials management program. You will build and lead a high-performing team, establish streamlined workflows and drive continuous improvements to minimize waste, reduce costs, and support project timelines. What You'll Do
- Program development: curate and implement a comprehensive materials management program and manage iterations and improvements with cross functional teams
- Recruit, hire, and build a materials management team, including roles such as coordinators, inspectors, and logistics specialist. Foster a collaborative environment and lead by example to ensure team alignment with organizational goals
- Workflow establishment and Optimization
- Performance monitoring and improvements: Identify and track key metrics (inventory accuracy, turnaround times, cost savings) and refine workflows based on data analysis. Proactively address edge cases like supply chain disruptions and building contingency plan
- Compliance and Safety. Ensure all processes adhere to industry regulations, safety standards and environmental guidelines. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate materials management to broader operations and cost systems
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Architecture or equivalent experience
- 10+ years of relevant industry experience (heavy industrial, oil & gas, complex chemical plants, refineries)
- Previous experience on $250M+ projects
- Managing 5+ senior-level direct reports
- Ability to work within a high-performance, cross-functional organization with extremely tight timelines and aggressive goals.
- Proficiency in PowerBI or other data analytic software considered an asset
