Job description

Our client, a leading manufacturing company, is looking to hire an experienced SAP Licensing Analyst to take ownership of the SAP software licensing program. In this role, you will serve as the internal expert on all things SAP licensing, ensuring compliance, controlling costs, and helping the organization get maximum value from its SAP investments. You will work cross-functionally with IT, procurement, legal, and security teams, and your insights will directly influence strategic purchasing and optimization decisions., * Manage the full lifecycle of SAP software licenses, from procurement through renewal, ensuring compliance with all licensing terms and conditions

  • Monitor and manage SAP user accounts and authorizations to maintain alignment with licensing agreements
  • Collaborate with the security team to review SAP roles and prevent excessive or unnecessary licensing usage
  • Analyze software usage data to identify over-licensing, under-utilization, and opportunities for cost savings through consolidation or renegotiation
  • Prepare and present reports on licensing status, compliance metrics, and cost savings for leadership
  • Provide expert guidance on SAP licensing best practices and advise on strategic purchasing decisions
  • Support internal and external audits related to SAP software compliance
  • Participate in SAP-related projects including license optimization initiatives, system upgrades, and migrations
  • Stay current on evolving SAP licensing models, cloud licensing terms, and industry best practices

Requirements

  • Some college, and more than 3 years of experience in SAP licensing.
  • Experience in SAP licensing models (user-based, processor-based, and engine-based)
  • Strong analytical skills with experience using SQL, Excel, and SAP reporting tools to interpret complex data sets
  • Understanding of SAP license management in cloud environments
  • Ability to analyze complex licensing situations, identify risks, and propose practical solutions
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively across technical, business, and leadership audiences
  • Project management skills to support licensing optimization, upgrade, and migration initiatives
  • Advantageous skills include: Basic ABAP, familiarity with SAP GRC, knowledge of SAP modules (FI/CO, MM, SD, PP).

This role is hybrid 3/2 in Houston, TX, must be a current resident of Houston, TX.
