Job description
We are seeking a Data Analyst for our Analytics department. This position will be exempt (salaried, not overtime eligible). Candidate must be located in or around the Nashville, TN or Brentwood, TN area, as the position will be in-office on Mondays and throughout the week as needed., To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. - Decompose high-level business and user requirements into functional requirements suitable for use by the business intelligence application and data warehouse.
- Assist with low-complexity data pipeline and data source design and implementation to support reporting and analytics needs, including understanding source applications and processes; performing data extraction, transformation, and validation; and identifying and resolving data quality issues in collaboration with data owners and technical partners.
- Analyze data to identify trends, business rules, and actionable insights that support business and operational decision-making, ensuring data accuracy, consistency, and appropriate use within reporting and analytics solutions.
- Assist with the design, maintenance, and continuous improvement of the semantic layer used to support reporting and analytics, as needed.
- Create and maintain scheduled, on-demand, and ad-hoc reports and dashboards of moderate complexity (e.g.: multiple data sources, calculations, interactivity, and semantic modeling) to support business and operational reporting needs, as needed.
- Collaborate with data governance team to ensure enterprise metadata is properly managed and governed.
- Effectively collaborate or communicate with stakeholders to promote awareness and effective use of enterprise data assets by developing and maintaining an evolving understanding of those assets and their organizational context.
- Capable of leading low complexity Business Intelligence projects (occasionally or as needed).
- Participate in cross-functional teams

- Intermediate to strong understanding of Business Intelligence and Data Warehousing processes and tools.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate data governance and data quality concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Disciplined organizational skills with the ability to organize, prioritize, and meet deadlines across multiple projects.
- Effective interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently and recognize when and how to effectively collaborate with others.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient with Outlook, Word, Excel, Microsoft SQL and a variety of software programs
- Focused with strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to efficiently multi-task and manage multiple, complex projects.

Requirements:
Education
Bachelor's degree in related field, preferred.
Relevant Experience Required
- Minimum 2 years of directly related experience in the development and maintenance of Business Intelligence solutions.
- In lieu of directly related experience, an equivalent combination of relevant education, applied experience, and demonstrated comprehension of data analytics principles may be considered.
- Intermediate comprehension of property and casualty insurance, preferred.
Licenses and Professional Designations
- AINS certification from The Institutes, a plus.
- Microsoft Certification: Power BI Data Analyst Associate, a plus.
