Job description

Position Summary:The Security Clerk provides administrative and operational support for security clearance processing, access control, and personnel security functions. This role ensures timely, accurate handling of clearance documentation, base access requests, and command badging requirements in support of mission readiness.Minimum RequirementsEducation, * Process daily local agency checks, visit requests, and security clearance actions.

  • Verify all security documents for accuracy and completeness.
  • Maintain Security Clearance folders and ensure timely filing of all OPM correspondence.
  • Maintain an uptodate roster of all personnel with active security clearances.

Access & Badging Support

  • Process Common Access Card (CAC) requests.
  • Prepare and submit Base Access Requests for visitors.
  • Create, program, and issue command badges; ensure full knowledge of the command badging system.

Systems & Tools

  • Complete daily tasks using:
  • DISS (Defense Information System for Security)
  • eQIP (Electronic Questionnaires for Investigations Processing)
  • Fingerprinting systems and other automated security platforms

Administrative & Compliance Duties

  • Provide timely information to staff and customers as needed.
  • Attend all mandatory training, including:
  • Monthly process improvement meetings
  • Safety stand-downs
  • Annual IT system upgrade training
  • Annual command-wide training
  • Ensure all duties support Global War on Terrorism (GWOT) security requirements.

Requirements

High School Diploma, * Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel

  • Ability to communicate clearly in English (reading, writing, speaking)
  • Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods
  • Experience with fingerprinting equipment, DISS, e-QIP, and automated security systems (required), * Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion
  • Strong organizational and timemanagement skills
  • Ability to work independently while maintaining high-quality standards
